Sewful Sisters Show and Tell 12-4-2012

The Sewful Sisters had lots to share on Tuesday. Here is the gallery, in no particular order.

Corey showed off her lively red, white, and black creation.

She also gave us a mini-lesson in how to make a large quilted carry bag. Corey is on the right, Janice on the left. The completed tan, green, and brown bag is at Corey's feet.

It starts out with a small quilt.

The quilt is folded a certain way and sewn into a sort of a duffel bag. Corey then makes and attaches matching cloth handles. These are bright pretty orange ones. Corey says that she uses school glue to secure them in place temporarily, then stitches them down. The bag is plenty big enough to carry 2 to 3 good-sized quilts.

Janice brought two finished quilts. The first one was made of gorgeous batiks.

The second one, she did on commission. The lady wanted purple and green. Janice did a great job choosing the fabrics and the block design.

Our little overachiever, Donna, has been very busy. She brought one of several table runners that she has recently completed.

She made 24 of these little beauties.

Lois shared this intricate Art Nouveau wall hanging that she made. The picture does not do it justice.

After taking all of those pictures, I returned to my chair. Somebody named Sweetie, the Tomcat, had stolen it. No problem. It happens all the time at my house.

  1. Very busy group. The duffel bag looks interesting. Can always use big bag for quilts to bring to guild.
